Hyderabad: Forest officials in Kamareddy district have come under pressure from residents after a series of tiger attacks on cows triggered panic across multiple mandals.
Locals reported recent attacks in the outskirts of Maddikunta village’s Golla Rajaram suburb, as well as in Domakonda, Bibipe, and Bikkanoor mandals. The tiger reportedly killed two cows in the Sangameshwar and Pedda Mallareddy areas and has since struck again near Ambaripeta.
Villagers say the tiger attacks have made them fearful of tending to their livestock. Several have stopped grazing their animals in open fields, citing concern over the tiger’s unpredictable movements.
Forest officials urged to act amid rising fear
The escalating situation has prompted widespread calls for immediate intervention. Residents are demanding that forest department teams track and capture the tiger before it harms humans. So far, no injuries to people have been reported, but the pattern of attacks has intensified fears of further incidents.
The tiger’s presence has also caused sleepless nights in affected areas, with families staying indoors after dusk and avoiding forest-adjacent routes.
