Hyderabad: Three persons were burnt alive in a fiery crash involving two lorries on National Highway 563 near Ellampeta stage in Maripeda mandal, Mahabubabad district, early Friday.
Police said a granite truck and a poultry feed lorry crashed into each other, triggering an explosion that engulfed both vehicles in flames. The drivers of both lorries and a cleaner died on the spot. All three were trapped in the cabins and could not escape.
Locals alerted fire and police personnel, who reached the scene and brought the blaze under control. Rescue operations were taken up immediately.
The accident led to a major traffic jam on the highway, which police teams worked to clear. A case has been registered, and an investigation is in progress.
