Hyderabad: A major road accident in Anakapalli district left three people dead and several others injured late Monday night after a speeding truck ploughed into multiple vehicles halted at a traffic signal near Lankelapalem junction on the national highway.
Police said the truck first hit three stationary cars and ten motorcycles before crashing into a container truck headed toward Pendurthi. Preliminary reports suggest the truck’s brakes failed, leading to the pile-up.
Three people died on the spot. Several others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Anakapalli Government Hospital for treatment.
Multiple vehicles were crushed or severely damaged in the impact. The sudden incident caused panic among local residents and commuters.
