Hyderabad: Students in both Telugu states are set to enjoy two sets of three-day holidays in August, thanks to a combination of festivals and weekends.
In Andhra Pradesh, schools will remain closed on Friday, August 8, for Varalakshmi Vratham. In Telangana, the same day is declared an optional holiday. The following day, Saturday, August 9, is Rakhi Pournami. It also happens to be the second Saturday of the month, which means schools will already be closed for the regular weekend break. Sunday, August 10, adds to the streak, giving students a continuous three-day break.
Another three-day school holiday streak from August 15
The following week, another long holiday spell awaits students. Friday, August 15, is Independence Day, with schools observing a half-day. The next day, August 16, falls on Sri Krishna Janmashtami, a festival holiday, while Sunday, August 17, brings the third day of the weekend closure.
These back-to-back extended breaks come as welcome news for students across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the monsoon months.
