Telangana witnesses extreme heat and sudden rains in April 2025

HYDERABAD: Telangana experienced unusual weather patterns during April 2025, with temperatures soaring past 44 degrees Celsius in several areas, while unexpected rains surprised residents in others.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures across various districts were recorded 1.5 to 2.5 degrees Celsius above normal levels, raising concerns among experts. They warned that this was not a temporary spike but an indication of a larger climatic shift.

On the other hand, sudden showers in parts of the state provided much-needed relief after days of intense heat. The unexpected rainfalls helped cool the atmosphere and brought temporary comfort to citizens.

Meteorologists attributed this erratic weather to global climate change, cautioning that if such trends persist, Telangana could face even harsher weather conditions in the coming years.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public to take necessary precautions during extreme heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding unnecessary exposure to the sun, and wearing light, breathable clothing.
