Hyderabad: Two RTC bus accidents occurred in Telangana on Monday—one in Vikarabad and the other in Karimnagar raising fresh concerns over road safety just hours after the deadly Chevella crash.
In the first case, a Karnataka RTC bus lost control and hit a lorry near Karan Kot in Tandur mandal, Vikarabad district. The driver suffered serious head injuries, but all passengers remained safe. Police said overspeeding caused the collision. Both the bus and lorry were registered in Karnataka. Rescue teams reached the spot quickly and shifted the injured driver to a nearby hospital.
In the second incident, a Metpally depot RTC bus collided with a paddy-laden tractor near Renikunta bridge in Thimmapur mandal, Karimnagar district. The bus was heading from Hyderabad to Karimnagar. Ten passengers sustained minor injuries. Medical teams admitted them to Karimnagar Government Hospital for treatment.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar responded to the incident and instructed officials to provide proper medical attention to the injured
