HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has announced plans to set up road safety awareness parks in schools across the state. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that these parks aim to educate children on traffic rules and promote safety from a young age.
Speaking at a recent event on Friday, Minister Ponnam emphasised the importance of instilling road safety habits early. He noted that the initiative would involve interactive learning environments where students can engage with practical demonstrations of traffic regulations.
The proposed parks will feature simulated road scenarios, including traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and signage, allowing students to experience real-world traffic situations in a controlled setting. The initiative seeks to reduce road accidents by fostering responsible behaviour among future drivers and pedestrians.
The government plans to collaborate with educational institutions and traffic authorities to implement this programme effectively. Further details regarding the rollout and specific locations of these parks are expected to be released in the coming months.
