Over 12,000 polytechnic diploma seats vacant after internal sliding in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 12,991 vacant polytechnic diploma seats after the completion of internal sliding this year, with just over half the total capacity filled across government and private institutions.

Of the 29,449 seats available in 115 polytechnic colleges, only 16,458 (55.88%) were filled. During the internal sliding process, 1,154 candidates exercised web options, and 667 of them were allotted new branches.

The remaining seats will now be filled through spot admissions, as per the state technical education authorities.
