Telangana Police urge harassment victims to report abuse, assure support

Hyderabad: Telangana Police on Thursday urged harassment victims to report abuse instead of suffering in silence, promising confidentiality and full support.

In a public appeal issued via X (formerly Twitter), the department warned against tolerating any form of harassment, whether on social media or in public spaces. Victims were advised not to internalise trauma, and instead to seek police assistance without hesitation.

The statement assured that officers would maintain discretion and work to resolve complaints with sensitivity. Police said they stand by victims and are committed to offering protection and psychological support through designated wings.

The message was issued in Telugu, reiterating that the police remain accessible and responsive to anyone facing abuse.
