HYDERABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 16 districts in Telangana amid an intense heatwave. The alert, issued on 27 April 2025, will remain effective for the next five days. The affected districts are:

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially between 11 AM and 4 PM. Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of water, wear light clothing, and take appropriate precautions against sun exposure.
According to forecasts, temperatures in some areas may exceed 45 degrees Celsius. The severe heatwave poses risks not only to human health but also to crops and livestock.
The department further mentioned that while isolated areas may experience light rainfall, overall, the intensity of the heat is expected to persist. Citizens are urged to follow official advisories and take necessary measures to protect their health.
