Hyderabad: Newly appointed Telangana Governor Siva Pratap Shukla arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed him at the airport.
The Governor and his spouse landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. The Chief Minister received them and briefly interacted with the Governor.
State Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy were also present during the reception.
Officials said the Governor will take oath later on Tuesday. Aparesh Kumar Singh will administer the oath of office.
Authorities have made arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan Hyderabad.
Telangana Governor to take oath today
Officials are making final preparations for the ceremony at Raj Bhavan. The event will formally mark the assumption of office of the new Governor in Telangana.
The Union government recently appointed Governors for several states as part of a reshuffle.
As part of this exercise, the Centre transferred Siva Pratap Shukla from his earlier role as Governor of Himachal Pradesh to Telangana.
The government also transferred former Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to Maharashtra.
Officials said senior government leaders and dignitaries will attend the oath ceremony later in the day.
