HYDERABAD: The newly elected Telangana MLCs from the recent Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies in Telangana were sworn in on Monday at the Telangana Legislative Council.
From the BJP, MLCs Malka Komuraiah and Anji Reddy, who were elected in the recent polls, took oath in the presence of Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy. Senior BJP leaders Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Raghunandan Rao were present at the event.
In addition, four MLCs elected under the MLA quota from the Congress party – Vijayashanthi, Addanki Dayakar, Shankar Naik, and Nellikanti Satyam (CPI) – also took oath, administered by Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy. Congress ministers Sridhar Babu and Uttam Kumar Reddy attended the ceremony in support.
P.R.T.U. candidate Sripal Reddy, who was elected as the MLC from the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Teachers’ constituency, was also sworn in during the event.
The oath-taking ceremony highlighted the recent electoral gains made by both the BJP and the Congress in the Telangana Legislative Council.
