HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has announced a special holiday on February 27, 2025, for government employees eligible to vote in the upcoming MLC elections in Telangana. This measure aims to facilitate voter participation in the Member of Legislative Council elections.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj has urged private organizations to support employees in exercising their voting rights. He recommended that private employers adjust work schedules or allow sufficient time off so that employees can cast their votes without difficulty.
The MLC elections in Telangana will take place on February 27, covering the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Graduate constituency and the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ constituency. The government’s move highlights its commitment to encouraging maximum voter turnout and strengthening democratic participation.
