Hyderabad: The Health Department announced Telangana lab technician recruitment on Monday by releasing the final list for 1,284 Lab Technician (Grade–2) posts. Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha announced the results at the Secretariat, and he did so in the presence of Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu and senior officials.
Officials explained that the Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board issued the notification late last year. Moreover, the Board received 24,045 applications, and 23,323 candidates later attended the computer-based examination. After evaluation, the Board finalised the selection list and uploaded the details on its website. The Minister congratulated the recruits and said the improved staffing had already strengthened government hospitals. He added that earlier shortages had slowed services, yet recent hiring created visible progress across multiple districts.
Telangana lab technician recruitment boosts public health capacity
The Minister said the wider Telangana lab technician recruitment drive forms part of a broader effort to fill key roles in the health sector. Furthermore, he noted that the government filled more than 9,000 posts in the past two years. Recruitment for 7,000 additional positions—including doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists and support staff—is also in progress.
He added that government hospitals, once understaffed and less active, now appear vibrant and fully functional. As a result, patient inflow increased in several facilities. He also assured that the remaining recruitment steps would move quickly so that services remain smooth across Telangana.
