Telangana ideal destination for Slovenian investments, says Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Telangana Slovenian investments prospects were highlighted by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who described the state as an ideal destination for global investors. He cited strong infrastructure and an investor-friendly ecosystem as key advantages.

The Minister made the remarks during a meeting with a Slovenian delegation at the Assembly Committee Hall on Wednesday. Slovenia’s Ambassador to India, Tomaz Mencin, led the delegation. Sridhar Babu outlined opportunities across life sciences, automobiles and information technology sectors.

He described Slovenia as a prosperous Central European nation with strong industrial capabilities. At the same time, he emphasised the scope for collaboration between Telangana and Slovenia. According to him, both regions can benefit from shared strengths in advanced manufacturing and innovation.

Telangana Slovenian investments gain from FTA advantage

Sridhar Babu said the recently concluded Free Trade Agreement with the European Union in January created new opportunities. The agreement allows duty-free access for nearly 99.95% of products exported to European markets. Therefore, he said Telangana becomes more attractive for foreign investors targeting Europe.

He assured that the state government would provide full support and incentives to companies. These include firms investing in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and automotive components manufacturing.

The Minister also noted Slovenia’s role in supplying original equipment components to major automobile brands. These include Volkswagen, Kia, Peugeot, Citroën and Stellantis. He said such expertise aligns with Telangana’s industrial capabilities.

Telangana Slovenian investments see strong sector synergy

Sridhar Babu highlighted Slovenia’s advancements in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. He said the country plays a key role in Europe’s life sciences supply chain.

He added that Telangana leads India’s pharma and biotech sectors. As a result, both regions offer strong synergies through infrastructure and established ecosystems.

The Minister also pointed to growing opportunities in IT development and cloud computing. He invited Slovenian companies to explore partnerships and investments in these sectors.

Energy Special Chief Secretary Naveen Mittal, Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthy and Slovenian representatives Asif Iqbal, Sujith Nair and Keerthi Chilukuri attended the meeting.

Sridhar Babu reiterated that Telangana Slovenian investments could expand through collaboration across multiple high-growth sectors.
