Hyderabad: Telangana IAS Officers Association strongly condemned recent media reports targeting a woman IAS officer. It described the coverage as malicious, baseless, and harmful to women officers.
The association said the reports carried unfounded allegations and raised unnecessary suspicion. It referred to a programme aired by a Telugu news channel involving a woman IAS officer from the Telangana cadre and a state minister.
Reacting sharply, the association said such remarks against honest officers were unacceptable. Therefore, it demanded an immediate public apology from the channel. It also asked the channel to remove the content from all platforms.
The association released a letter on the issue. Its president K Ramakrishna Rao and secretary Jayesh Ranjan signed the communication.

The Telangana IAS Officers Association said the telecast amounted to character assassination. It said the coverage was similar to harassment of women officers.
The association rejected claims about “comfortable postings” for woman IAS officers. It said these allegations were completely false and misleading.
Moreover, the association said such reports damaged the credibility of the civil services. It warned that these narratives weakened trust in constitutional posts and the transfer system.
The association also expressed concern over repeat telecasts by other media outlets. Therefore, it urged all media organisations to avoid irresponsible and unethical journalism.
According to the association, the episode attacked the morale and dignity of civil servants. It said media trials and rumour-based reporting were unacceptable practices.
Finally, the Telangana IAS Officers Association warned of legal action. It said individuals and organisations spreading defamatory content would face consequences.
