Telangana heatwave warning forecasts extreme temperatures from April 12 to 22

Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department issued a Telangana heatwave warning, forecasting a sharp rise in temperatures and strong hot winds across the state from April 12 to April 22.

The department expects temperatures to stay above normal during this period. Dry winds will affect most districts. Northern and eastern Telangana will face the most intense heat. In several areas, temperatures may cross 44°C, officials said.

The Telangana heatwave warning signals a prolonged spell of extreme weather. Authorities urged residents to stay alert as heat levels will continue to rise through the forecast period.

Hyderabad will also experience severe conditions. From April 12, the city may record temperatures between 40°C and 41°C for nearly ten days. Hot winds and humidity will increase discomfort. The forecast shows very low chances of rainfall, with only isolated light showers in a few places.

Weather officials do not expect widespread rain during this period. Any brief drizzles will not reduce heat levels significantly.

Doctors advised people to avoid going out during peak afternoon hours unless necessary. They urged residents to drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration. Elderly people and children remain at higher risk during the heatwave.

Medical experts recommended regular intake of water, coconut water, and fruit juices. The advisory noted that high temperatures will persist throughout the forecast period without major relief.
