Telangana health minister orders quality care for tainted toddy victims

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha has instructed officials at NIMS Hospital to provide full medical attention to victims affected by the consumption of adulterated toddy.

The minister reviewed the condition of the 11 patients currently undergoing treatment at the facility and directed the hospital’s director to ensure they receive the best possible care.

The case has taken a political turn, with Kukatpally MLA Krishna Rao alleging that the compound from which the tainted toddy was supplied belongs to a local Congress leader from Serilingampally. He accused the leader of operating the illicit toddy business, which allegedly led to the poisoning.

The incident has sparked concern over the unchecked sale of spurious liquor and the political patronage behind such networks. Officials are yet to confirm the source of the adulteration.
