Telangana sanctions ₹3.30 crore aid for families of 66 Gulf migrants

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has released ₹3.30 crore as financial aid to the families of 66 migrants from the state who died in Gulf countries due to various reasons.

Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman and former MLA Anil stated that the aid was approved following directions from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The Finance Department disbursed the amount on Friday, and the funds will be credited directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Nizamabad district recorded the highest number of beneficiaries, with 28 migrant deaths reported. Jagtial district followed with 19 deaths, Kamareddy with 9, Nirmal with 7, and one each from Medak, Ranga Reddy, and Sangareddy districts.

Previously, the government had provided ₹5.15 crore in financial assistance to the families of 103 deceased migrants. With this latest disbursement, the total aid distributed in the financial year 2024–25 now stands at ₹8.45 crore for 169 cases.
