Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast normal to below-normal rainfall in Telangana until September 9. According to the latest bulletin, the state received 694.1 mm of rainfall between June and August, marking a 22 percent increase over the seasonal average of 568.4 mm.
Despite the overall excess, five districts recorded rainfall deficits. Nirmal district registered the sharpest shortfall at 28 percent below normal. Peddapalli followed with a 17 percent deficit, Nalgonda at 11 percent, Jayashankar Bhupalpally at 7 percent, and Mancherial at 5 percent.

The IMD further indicated that moderate rainfall is expected in northern and southern parts of the state on Sunday and Monday.
