Hyderabad: The Telangana government said 67,763 posts had been filled under its Telangana employment push, while announcing new skill and entrepreneurship initiatives in the 2026-27 Budget.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, while presenting the budget speech in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, said the Telangana employment push addressed one of the State’s key concerns. He stated that the government had streamlined recruitment processes to tackle unemployment. Efforts were made to strengthen institutions and improve hiring systems.
The Telangana Public Service Commission was reorganised to restore transparency and efficiency. The government said the reforms improved credibility after earlier issues. Officials added that recruitment processes are now more reliable and faster.
Alongside job creation, the Telangana employment push focused on improving employability. The government announced the establishment of the Young India Skill University. This institution will provide industry-relevant training to students.
Courses at the university will be designed with industry collaboration. Officials said this approach will help bridge the gap between education and employment. Students are expected to gain practical and job-ready skills.
Polytechnic colleges and ITIs are being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres. These centres will offer modern courses and hands-on training. The government also introduced scholarships for trainees to support participation in skill programmes.
The budget also highlighted the CM Overseas Employment Programme. This initiative aims to provide global job opportunities for youth. It includes training, language support, and assistance with visas and placements.
Through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited, thousands of youth have secured jobs abroad. These placements span sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, and construction. The government plans to expand this programme further.
Telangana employment push expands entrepreneurship and global opportunities
The Telangana employment push also introduced the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme. The scheme has an allocation of Rs.6,000 crore. It aims to support youth from various social groups in starting businesses.
Officials said the scheme will promote entrepreneurship and reduce dependence on traditional jobs. Financial assistance will help beneficiaries become self-reliant and create livelihoods.
In addition, the government strengthened labour welfare measures. These include worker registration, financial assistance, and skill training programmes. The aim is to improve working conditions and income security.
Digital platforms such as T-GATE are being used to support job seekers. These platforms provide career guidance, job matching, and access to training resources. Officials said technology will play a key role in employment services.
The Finance Minister said the Telangana employment push goes beyond job creation. He emphasised the importance of skills, entrepreneurship, and global exposure. The government aims to prepare youth for both domestic and international markets.
He added that the State is building a workforce capable of meeting future demands. The focus remains on sustainable employment and economic participation.
Overall, the Telangana employment push outlined a multi-pronged strategy. It combined recruitment, skill development, overseas opportunities, and entrepreneurship support. The government expects these measures to improve livelihoods and reduce unemployment.
