Telangana commended for compliance reduction reforms

Hyderabad: Telangana received commendation from the Centre for its performance in compliance reduction reforms during a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The session was chaired by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and attended by Sukruti Lekhi, Secretary to the Government of India.

Central officials praised Telangana’s achievements in Phase-I of the deregulation initiative and expressed confidence that the State would replicate its success in Phase-II. They outlined that the second phase covers 23 priority areas and five optional focus areas, all aimed at simplifying procedures and enhancing ease of doing business.

State targets early completion of Phase-II reforms

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao reaffirmed Telangana’s commitment to implementing the reforms ahead of schedule. He instructed departments to prepare and introduce the necessary legislations during the upcoming Budget Session of the State Legislature compliance reforms.

The meeting concluded with a renewed emphasis on proactive regulatory reforms aligned with national policy goals. Participants highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum and institutional support for ongoing compliance streamlining.

Senior officials in attendance included Jayesh Ranjan, Sanjay Kumar, Ahmed Nadeem, Lokesh Kumar, T.K. Sreedevi, Raghunandan Rao and Surendra Mohan.
