Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Tuesday confirmed that 23 citizens from the state have safely returned from conflict-hit regions in the Middle East, with further evacuations underway.
The rescue efforts are being closely monitored by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, with coordination from Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.
As of 1:00 PM on June 24, 17 new arrivals were recorded, including five from Masshad in Iran, one from Jordan (via Iran), and a total of 11 from Israel.
This follows the return of six students on the previous day four from Iran and two from Israel bringing the total number of evacuees to 23.
Returnees have arranged their own onward travel to Hyderabad, while Telangana Bhavan staff are providing support at the airport, including reception, refreshments, and coordination until domestic departures.
Additional arrivals are expected later in the day. The Telangana government remains in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian embassies to expedite further evacuations, particularly from Israel where flight schedules continue to be impacted by airspace restrictions.
The state reiterated its commitment to ensure the safety and return of all its citizens, and the dedicated helpline at Telangana Bhavan remains open for assistance.
