Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at the SR Lab chemical factory in Jaykesaram village of Choutuppal mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, early Sunday morning. The blaze, reportedly triggered by a short circuit, forced workers to evacuate immediately, narrowly escaping injury.
Thick smoke and rising flames caused panic among nearby residents and workers in surrounding factories. Fire and police teams rushed to the spot, deploying fire engines to control the blaze. Nearby chemical storage units and gas cylinders were shifted to safer locations to prevent escalation.
While no casualties were reported, a significant portion of the factory was gutted. Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire structure within minutes. Initial investigations point to a short circuit, though officials have held off on confirming the cause pending a full report.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
