Hyderabad: In a rare decision, the Telangana state cabinet will hold its next meeting in Medaram, a prominent tribal pilgrimage site, instead of the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, at 5 PM at the Haritha Hotel in Medaram, Mulugu district. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued formal orders confirming the venue.
Telangana Cabinet meeting Medaram, welfare, and budget planning
This special session will focus on preparations for the Sammakka-Saralamma Jathara, Asia’s largest tribal fair. The agenda also includes tribal development plans, budget discussions, municipal polls, and farmer welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister’s Office has already informed Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers, and senior government advisors. The government also directed the Mulugu District Collector and Superintendent of Police to handle the meeting arrangements.
By holding the session in Medaram, the Revanth Reddy-led government signals its focus on tribal affairs and commitment to decentralised governance.
