Telangana BC groups protest; Krishnaiah demands GO 46 withdrawal

Hyderabad: Telangana BC groups held citywide protests after BC Associations JAC chairman R. Krishnaiah said the Congress government had misled the community for two years on BC reservations. He argued that the newly issued GO 46 struck at the political future of BCs and urged the government to withdraw it without delay. His remarks framed the order as a direct hit on BC representation.

Krishnaiah joined the demonstrations at Vidyanagar, Amberpet, and Basheerbagh on Sunday.

During the programmes, BC leaders burnt copies of GO 46 before he addressed the gathering. He alleged that issuing the order formed part of a broader move to keep BCs away from political power. According to him, the government promised 42 per cent reservations but failed to act despite repeated assurances.

He asked whether the administration planned to raise hopes for two years only to discard them at the final moment. Krishnaiah warned that BC groups would now intensify their agitation. He urged the community to continue protests until the government withdrew GO 46 completely.

Leaders, including Neela Venkatesh, Rajender Mudiraj, Pagilla Satish, Ryaga Arun Kumar, Anantayya, Nageshwar Rao, Nookalamma, Raju Goud, and Bhoomanna Yadav, joined the demonstrations.
