Hyderabad: In a first since state formation, the Telangana government has appointed regular administrators to government medical colleges and teaching hospitals.
A government order issued this week promoted 44 senior professors as Additional Directors of Medical Education. They have been posted as principals of various government medical colleges and as superintendents of affiliated teaching hospitals across the state.
The move follows a recent notification by the Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board for direct recruitment to 607 assistant professor posts. The Finance Department has also cleared recruitment for another 714 posts, further expanding staffing in the medical education sector.
