Hyderabad: Heavy rains over the past few days and upstream discharge from Almatti and Jurala projects have pushed the flood inflow into the Srisailam reservoir above three lakh cusecs.
Officials lifted 10 out of the dam’s 12 crest gates by 12 feet on Wednesday to manage the surge, releasing water downstream to the Nagarjunasagar project.
As per the morning bulletin, Srisailam received an inflow of 3,09,876 cusecs. The outflow toward Nagarjunasagar stood at 3,05,640 cusecs. Power generation has been continuing uninterrupted during the discharge.
