Sridhar Babu campaigns in Thrissur district for Congress

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Monday conducted an intensive Thrissur district campaign in Kerala in support of Congress candidates, as Assembly elections progressed in the State.

He campaigned across multiple constituencies over two days alongside Thrissur District Congress Committee president Joseph Tajet. The campaign covered Ollur, Nattika, Kaipamangalam, Pudukkad, Chalakudy, Kodungallur, and Manalur constituencies.

During the Thrissur district campaign, he joined local Congress candidates and interacted with party workers at several locations. His visit came as the Congress sought to expand its presence in the district.

Thrissur district has 13 Assembly constituencies. The Congress-led UDF secured only two seats there in the 2021 Assembly elections. However, political observers indicated that the ruling LDF faced anti-incumbency in the current election cycle.

They said this trend could improve the prospects of the Congress-led UDF in the district. As a result, party leaders intensified outreach efforts through the ongoing Thrissur district campaign.

Thrissur district campaign strategy meetings

Sridhar Babu continued electioneering throughout the day and held meetings late into the night. He reviewed campaign strategy and assessed constituency-level political developments with senior Congress leaders.

During these discussions, he urged leaders and cadre to maintain unity and work with a common purpose. He emphasised that coordinated efforts would help ensure victory for Congress candidates in the Thrissur district campaign.

Meanwhile, Vikas Thakre, Congress MLA from West Nagpur in Maharashtra and president of the Nagpur District Congress Committee, met Sridhar Babu during the visit. The two leaders discussed the ongoing Thrissur district campaign and assessed the political situation on the ground.
