Hyderabad: A 25-year-old software employee from Visakhapatnam died by suicide at Durgam Cheruvu on Monday after reportedly jumping from the cable bridge. Police identified the deceased as Rajesh, who worked at a private IT company in Hyderabad.
According to Madhapur police, Rajesh had been staying at a hostel in Nacharam while working in the city’s IT sector. On Monday, he visited Madhapur’s Ayyappa Society area, where he met his friends before the incident.
Later, he reportedly jumped from the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge into the lake.
Police investigate suicide at Durgam Cheruvu
Following the incident, Madhapur police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Rajesh’s sister. Meanwhile, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams launched a search operation to locate his body.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear. The reason behind the suspected suicide had not been ascertained. The case remained under investigation.
