HYDERABAD: Rescue operations inside the SLBC tunnel reached their 47th day on Wednesday, with Special Officer Shivashankar Loteti conducting a review meeting at the Tunnel Inlet-1 office alongside senior officials from various support teams.
Speaking on the occasion, Loteti stated that the ongoing rescue efforts inside the tunnel have been intensified. He noted that restoration work on the loco train track is progressing in parallel with excavation inside the tunnel. Activities such as earth removal, steel cutting, and dewatering are being carried out simultaneously to support the mission.
Senior scientist G.C. Naveen from the National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Srinivasulu (DE, Irrigation Department), and senior company engineer Sanjay Kumar Singh thoroughly inspected the conditions at the site. According to Loteti, the ventilation system along the conveyor belt is being extended in coordination with the excavation work, and rescue teams are working tirelessly around the clock.
The review meeting was attended by Army officials, representatives from JP Company, SDRF officer Giridhar Reddy, Singareni Mines rescue personnel, Hydra officials, and officers from South Central Railway, among others.
