Telangana expands skill mobility pathways with Germany talks

Hyderabad: Telangana advanced skill mobility pathways after Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy held strategic talks with Indian Ambassador Ajit Gupte in Berlin to expand overseas employment opportunities.

The high-level delegation met the Ambassador at the Indian Embassy in Germany on Friday. The discussions focused on strengthening skill mobility pathways and leveraging the Indian diaspora in Europe’s largest economy.

Officials highlighted that the Indian community in Germany has grown to over 3.11 lakh. Of them, around 1.16 lakh actively contribute to the economy. Therefore, they said the trend reflects rising demand for skilled Indian professionals.

Telangana strengthens skill mobility pathways with Germany

Both sides discussed the increasing need for blue-collar and skilled workers in Germany. They emphasised pre-departure training to ensure candidates meet international standards and workplace expectations.

Vivek Venkatswamy said Telangana has built advanced training infrastructure to support skill mobility pathways. He added that the state developed modern laboratories and skill centres aligned with global industry needs.

The delegation outlined key initiatives, including the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company, which manages recruitment, training, and German language preparation. It also highlighted the PM SETU programme aimed at improving workforce mobility across sectors.

They further proposed a Master Trainer initiative to align Indian training systems with German industry requirements. Consequently, officials said this would strengthen workforce readiness.

Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary M. Dana Kishore and embassy representatives, attended the meeting. They reviewed strategies to expand employment avenues.

Ajit Gupte appreciated Telangana’s approach and assured support from the Embassy for structured labour mobility. Meanwhile, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation.

Officials said the collaboration would open opportunities in healthcare, engineering, and specialised trades. It would also strengthen Telangana’s global workforce presence.
