Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended the Sitarama Kalyanam at Bhadrachalam as thousands of devotees gathered to witness the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita on Sri Rama Navami. The Sitarama Kalyanam drew large crowds from across the Telugu states.
Devotees thronged the temple premises and Mithila Stadium, which resembled a festive spiritual venue. Moreover, chants of Lord Rama’s name echoed across Bhadrachalam throughout the celebrations.
Sitarama Kalyanam draws massive turnout at Bhadrachalam
Priests conducted the rituals amid Vedic chants in a specially decorated Kalyana Mandapam. Consequently, devotees witnessed the ceremony in a deeply devotional atmosphere.
Revanth Reddy attended the event along with his spouse. He offered silk clothes and pearl talambralu to the deities on behalf of the State government.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy with his spouse, and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha accompanied the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, temple priests explained the significance of the Sitarama Kalyanam to devotees.
Earlier, the Chief Minister and ministers laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹351 crore in Bhadrachalam. In addition, Revanth Reddy said the government will develop the temple into a major spiritual centre.
Priests began with Vishwaksena Puja and Punyahavachanam. Subsequently, they performed key rituals including Pravarana, Moksha Bandhanam, and Vara Puja.
They adorned Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana with traditional ornaments. Finally, at the auspicious Abhijit Muhurtham around noon, priests placed jeelakarra bellam on the heads of the divine couple amid chants by devotees.
