SIT notice to Teenmar Mallanna in phone tapping case, appearance on Thursday

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team probing the Telangana phone tapping case has issued a notice to MLC Teenmar Mallanna, also known as Chintapandu Naveen, after identifying his number among those illegally surveilled.

Mallanna has been asked to appear before the SIT and provide a statement. He is scheduled to visit Jubilee Hills Police Station on Thursday for examination.

The SIT has so far identified over 4,200 tapped phone lines, with 269 victims’ statements recorded to date. Those targeted reportedly include political leaders across party lines, former governors, sitting high court judges, and prominent personalities from the film, media, pharma, and IT sectors.

Officials said the list of victims continues to expand as forensic audits progress. The investigation is focused on tracing operational links and procedural breaches during the previous administration’s tenure.
