Sheath bonding cable theft gang busted by Narsingi police

Hyderabad: Narsingi police on December 1 arrested four men involved in sheath bonding cable theft across Cyberabad. They also held a scrap dealer who bought the stolen goods. Officers recovered property worth ₹2 lakh, including ₹1.27 lakh in cash.

Rajendranagar DCP Yogesh Goutham, IPS, and ACP G.V. Ramana Goud supervised the operation. Narsingi SHO G. Harikrishna Reddy and Detective Inspector G. Rajesh led the crime team. The accused had committed thefts in Narsingi, Gachibowli, Mokila, Shankarpally, RGIA, and Shadnagar police limits.

Police identified the accused as Dangde Omkar, Pujari Sai Kiran, Srivati Arunkumar, Sandyapagula Karthik, and Devarenti Narsimha. All hail from Bandlaguda Jagir and Peerancheru. They were booked under Crime No. 347/2025 at Narsingi PS. Relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 303(2), 317(2), and 3(5) apply in this case. The gang was also linked to 13 other thefts across six police stations.

Gang sold stolen cables to scrap dealer

The accused stole power cables from the Electricity Department. They sold the cables to scrap dealers for quick cash. According to police, the men were unemployed and needed money to support personal habits. To meet these needs, they resorted to theft and illegal sales.

Police are still searching for additional suspects. They urged residents to remain watchful and report any suspicious activity without delay.

CCS Rajendranagar Police assisted in the arrests. The operation was part of a broader crackdown on property offences in Cyberabad.
