Serial fraudster held in Hyderabad for fake job offers under software firm’s name

Hyderabad: A repeat offender is back behind bars after duping job seekers with fake offer letters under the name of a Hyderabad-based software company.

Ginni Gopi, 30, from Marripadu in Srikakulam district, posed as a recruiter for Lenssoft India Pvt Ltd, which operates out of MSL Arena Towers in Uppal. Over the past few months, he handed out forged appointment letters to unsuspecting candidates, charging them money in the process.

The scam came to light when dozens of hopeful applicants began showing up at the company’s office with offer letters in hand. Confused staff launched an internal probe and quickly alerted Uppal police.

Investigators say Gopi faked the company’s logo and signatures to make the letters look official. He allegedly collected thousands of rupees from each applicant in exchange for promises of employment.

Gopi, who has a track record of similar cons, was arrested and sent to judicial remand. Police say he’s already done time for past employment scams, and several cases are still pending against him in multiple states.
