Seethakka assures original Medaram temple structure will remain intact

Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka confirmed that the original Medaram temple structure in Mulugu district will remain unaltered during upcoming development works. She emphasised that all upgrades will be carried out only after consultations with temple priests.

Addressing a public meeting in Mulugu on Tuesday, Seethakka said the reverence for deities Sammakka and Saralamma would continue for generations. She noted that the planned developments would enhance the temple’s historical significance while protecting its spiritual sanctity.

“The people of this region are fortunate that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited and initiated projects respecting tribal traditions. He approved a development plan that honours the sacrifices of Sammakka and Saralamma and upholds the faith of their devotees,” Seethakka said.

She added that she had intended to formally request the Chief Minister to commit to long-term development of Medaram. However, before she could do so, Revanth Reddy had already pledged support to ensure the site receives national recognition for centuries to come.

Seethakka appealed to the public to support the temple’s development and contribute to the success of the upcoming Maha Jatara.
