Seethakka hits out at KTR over women welfare remarks

Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka criticised KTR in the Assembly, accusing him of making baseless allegations on women welfare during the debate on the Governor’s address.

Seethakka said the government was working with a clear goal of making one crore women financially strong. She added that the opposition should act responsibly and support such initiatives.

She cited data and said the government sanctioned over ₹57,000 crore in loans to women self-help groups across the State. At the same time, she cautioned the opposition against ridiculing welfare schemes.

Questioning the previous regime, she asked why the BRS failed to implement similar measures during its ten-year rule. She said the government remained committed to women empowerment through structured programmes.

The minister alleged that KTR had consistently shown disregard towards women. Therefore, she said, he could not accept the initiatives being implemented by the present government.

She said the government would continue to push welfare measures aimed at improving the economic status of women.
