Minister Seethakka directs timely Medaram Jatara works

Hyderabad: State Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr Dhanasari Anasuya, known as Seethakka, directed officials to complete Medaram Jatara works within the stipulated timeline. According to her, authorities must open all facilities to devotees well before the Maha Medaram Jatara.

On Monday, Seethakka inspected Medaram Jatara works at Medaram in SS Tadwai mandal along with Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkata Rao. Tribal priests welcomed the minister and the MLA on arrival. As per tradition, they performed special rituals at the goddess platforms.

Medaram Jatara works to avoid inconvenience to devotees

Later, Seethakka said thousands of devotees were visiting the shrine daily during the advance worship period. Therefore, she instructed officials to ensure Medaram Jatara works did not disrupt pilgrim movement. Round-the-clock work, she said, could help complete stone construction at the Sammakka, Saralamma, Pagididda Raju and Govindaraju platforms on time.

She also directed officials to increase the pace of Medaram Jatara works while maintaining quality standards. District Congress Committee president Paidaka Ashok attended the inspection. Meanwhile, Mulugu Agricultural Market Committee chairperson Rega Kalyani joined the visit. Priests and Congress leaders participated in the programme.
