Drinking water woes for Secretariat visitors as purifier remains defunct

HYDERABAD: Visitors to the Telangana Secretariat are facing serious inconvenience due to the lack of access to clean drinking water, with officials allegedly neglecting the issue despite the ongoing summer heat.

Though a drinking water mission is in place, the water purifier at the Secretariat has reportedly been out of service for the past six months, leaving visitors from distant districts struggling in the scorching heat.

Every day, hundreds of citizens arrive at the Secretariat with petitions and grievances, hoping to resolve various issues. However, many are now forced to bring their own water or go without, as no alternative arrangements have been made.

With temperatures rising, the situation has worsened, and the administration’s failure to restore basic drinking water facilities is drawing criticism.

Citizens have urged the authorities to immediately repair or replace the purifier and ensure clean water is available, calling it a minimum necessity that should not be overlooked.
