Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Tuesday announced summer special trains to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the peak travel season.
The railway zone said the summer special trains would connect major destinations, including Tirupati, Raxaul, Patna and Charlapalli. The move aims to ease congestion and provide additional travel options for passengers during the summer rush.
Officials stated that Tirupati–Raxaul summer special trains, numbered 07051 and 07052, would operate between April 13 and May 28. These trains will halt at key junctions such as Secunderabad, Kazipet, Nagpur and Ranchi along the route.

In addition, Patna–Charlapalli summer special trains, bearing numbers 03253, 03254 and 03255, will run multiple days each week until the end of May. These services will cover important stations across Telangana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Bihar, ensuring broader regional connectivity.
Officials said the introduction of summer special trains was aimed at accommodating increased passenger demand during the holiday period. They added that these services would help reduce pressure on regular trains operating on these routes.
All summer special trains will include a mix of 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper and general coaches. This arrangement, officials said, would cater to passengers across different travel segments and fare categories.
The SCR said it would continue to monitor passenger demand and take further measures if required. The railway zone emphasised that the special services were part of its seasonal planning to ensure smoother travel during the summer months.
