Hyderabad: Police seized two sand tippers in Mahabubnagar district after catching them transporting sand illegally without permits, Sub-Inspector Ravi said.
The sub-inspector said the tippers were intercepted near the Itikyala stage while transporting sand from Kurnool towards Gadwal. He said cases were registered against the drivers, Shivakumar and Narasimha, for violating sand transportation rules.
Police said the vehicles were operating without valid permissions and were seized as part of ongoing checks to curb illegal sand movement in the region.

In a separate incident, Sub-Inspector Srinivasulu said a tractor was caught transporting sand illegally without any authorisation. He said the vehicle was intercepted while moving sand from Baligera to Chintalakunta.
The sub-inspector said a case was registered against the driver and the owners of the tractor for illegal sand transport. Police said further action would be taken as per the law.
Officials said enforcement drives against unauthorised sand mining and transportation would continue across the Mahabubnagar district.
