Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Tuesday inspected security arrangements at Mecca Masjid near Charminar ahead of the Ramzan month and directed officials to ensure foolproof measures for devotees.
With the holy month set to begin, Commissioner V C Sajjanar visited the historic Mecca Masjid at Charminar. He reviewed the Ramzan security Mecca Masjid arrangements in detail. Charminar MLA Mir Zulfiqar Ali accompanied him during the inspection.
The Commissioner examined the mosque premises and surrounding areas. He assessed crowd management, deployment plans and other precautionary measures. Subsequently, he instructed police officers to strengthen Ramzan security Mecca Masjid so that worshippers face no inconvenience during prayers.
Earlier, Sajjanar met Muslim religious leaders at Kotwal House in Purani Haveli. He held detailed discussions on security arrangements for the month-long Ramzan festivities. During the meeting, he offered several suggestions to ensure peaceful observance across the city.
Ramzan security Mecca Masjid reviewed with senior officers
Additional Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal and Joint Commissioner of Police S M Vijay Kumar participated in the review. Charminar Zone DCP Khare Kiran Prabhakar and other senior officers also attended the programmes.
Officials said the police department would maintain strict vigilance throughout the festival period. They added that special measures would remain in place to manage large gatherings at Mecca Masjid and nearby areas.
