Hyderabad: Saifabad Traffic Police penalised 62 commuters for using a mobile phone while driving during a special enforcement drive at Telangana Talli Junction.
Officials conducted the drive to curb distracted driving and improve road safety. They identified violators during routine checks at the busy junction.
After booking cases, senior officers counselled the offenders on the risks involved. They warned that distracted driving increases the chances of accidents.

Further, officers advised motorists to avoid attending calls while driving. Instead, they asked drivers to pull over safely in case of urgent calls.
Meanwhile, officials stressed that safety must take priority over phone usage. They urged commuters to follow traffic rules strictly.
Authorities said such drives will continue regularly. They added that strict action would follow against repeat offenders.
