Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Tuesday credited ₹1,551.89 crore to bank accounts of farmers holding up to three acres of land under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, according to Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.
The funds were disbursed at a rate of ₹6,000 per acre. The latest tranche benefitted 10.45 lakh farmers.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had formally launched the Rythu Bharosa rollout on Monday. On day one, ₹2,349.83 crore was deposited to cover 39.16 lakh acres held by 41.25 lakh farmers with land holdings up to two acres.
The minister said the process of crediting funds is being carried out directly without bank-level complications. He added that support for all remaining farmers, regardless of landholding size, will follow.
Tummala said the government remained committed to ensuring timely financial assistance to farmers through direct benefit transfer.
