Hyderabad: Two people died on the spot and another was injured in a road accident near Akkayyapalem in Anakapalle district on Friday morning.
The crash took place on the national highway near Kasin Kota mandal when a vehicle collided with a stationary lorry. Locals alerted the police and shifted the injured to hospital and
Police reached shortly after, shifted the bodies for postmortem, and launched an investigation.
The mishap triggered heavy traffic disruption between Akkayyapalem and Elamanchili, leading to a long snarl on the highway. Motorists faced delays until the road was cleared and normal flow resumed.
A case has been registered, and further inquiry is underway.
