Ring road plans for major district HQs: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare plans for ring roads around major district headquarters. The initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and strengthen connectivity with Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister reviewed the Roads and Buildings (R&B) and Transport Departments. R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar attended the review meeting.

Ring roads to improve district connectivity

During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked officials to speed up teaching hospital projects across the state. He also directed them to accelerate works related to major hospitals.

Officials were instructed to fast-track the construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) at key locations.

The Chief Minister also asked departments to study new road links, including a greenfield road connecting Nagarjuna Sagar to the Hyderabad–Vijayawada Expressway.

He further ordered that government departments should purchase only electric vehicles in the future.

The Transport Department will introduce a comprehensive online system to improve public services.

Officials will also construct permanent buildings for Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the state.

The government will promote road safety awareness through short films and campaigns.

Meanwhile, officials will prepare plans for a modern bus terminal near the proposed high-speed rail corridor at Shamshabad.

Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Srinivasa Raju, R&B Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Transport Commissioner Ilambarthi, R&B Engineer-in-Chief Mohan Nayak and other officials attended the meeting.
