Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy intensified his football practice on Thursday as he prepared for his upcoming match with Lionel Messi. He reached Woxsen University near Kankol village in Sangareddy district after returning from New Delhi and joined students for a friendly session on the campus ground.
He toured the university with Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and viewed several student stalls before entering the field. Students cheered when he struck the ball or sent a pass forward during the friendly match with the Woxsen Sharks. Earlier, Chancellor Praveen K Pula honoured him. Revanth Reddy urged young people to excel in both studies and sports to build stronger futures.

Security review strengthens as Revanth Reddy prepares
DGP Shivadhar Reddy ordered strong security for the 13th, when Lionel Messi and the chief minister meet at Uppal Stadium. He inspected the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium with Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Intelligence Chief Vijay Kumar, and other senior officers.
He reviewed arrangements with GHMC, the electricity department, Water Works, the Sports Authority of Telangana, and the event organisers. The DGP said the security plan must match Messi’s global reach and the expected turnout. Sudheer Babu said only visitors with valid passes or tickets may enter. He added that checks will begin along approach routes to the stadium.
