Revanth Reddy reviews sports infrastructure plans in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed plans to strengthen sports infrastructure in the state and called for world-class facilities to train athletes for international competitions.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials of the state Sports Department and discussed development plans for the Young India Sports University.

He directed officials to equip the university with international-standard training facilities. The aim, he said, is to help athletes from Telangana perform strongly at the Olympic level.

Sports infrastructure development plans reviewed

Revanth Reddy also instructed officials to renovate the Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium and develop additional facilities within the stadium premises.

Plans include construction of an indoor stadium, a university complex, hostel buildings and sports grounds for multiple disciplines.

The Chief Minister reviewed architectural designs prepared for the proposed structures. He also suggested improvements to the plans.

He asked officials to prepare strategies to position Telangana as a potential host for global events such as the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.

The government also plans to modernize several major stadiums across the state.

These include Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Stadium, Lal Bahadur Stadium and Saroornagar Stadium.

The Chief Minister said modern facilities would strengthen training systems and improve the performance of Telangana athletes.

Ministers Vakiti Srihari and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy attended the meeting.

Former advisor Vem Narender Reddy, SAT Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramkrishna Rao, senior officials and representatives from the Sports Authority of Telangana were also present.
