Hyderabad: The Police Commemoration Day ceremony was held at the Goshamahal Police Grounds in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy attended the event, which honoured police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
DGP highlights police service and sacrifice
Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy said police officers work tirelessly to maintain peace and public order in society. He noted that 191 police personnel across the country have lost their lives this year while serving the nation.
He stressed that development is impossible without peace and security. The DGP added that the department has taken several preventive measures to curb crime in the State.
Week-long commemorative programmes across Telangana
Shivadhar Reddy said community policing has helped build strong public trust in the force. He added that the department has planned special programmes across Telangana to honour the spirit of police sacrifice.
Commemorative events will continue for a week starting today, featuring various awareness and remembrance activities in all districts.
